Get started with Workflows
Workflows are included with the Business plan. You also need the right permission before you can build or edit them.
What you need
- Your workspace must be on the Business plan.
- To build or edit workflows, your role needs the Create or edit workflows and automations permission.
- To approve a change, the approver needs the matching approve permission or must be included in the approver set chosen in the workflow.
Open the Workflows area
- 1Open Settings.
- 2Select Service Management.
- 3On the Overview tab, turn on Workflows if the module is off.
- 4Open the Workflows tab.
- 5Click New Workflow when you are ready to start.
What the tabs mean
Overview turns the module on and shows which process areas are available. Workflows is the combined list for processes and automations. Approver Groups is where you manage approval groups. Notifications controls workflow related emails.
Before you build
Start with one small workflow. Pick a real problem, like routing new billing tickets, and build only the steps needed for that job. It is easier to trust one simple automation than one giant automation that tries to do everything.
